Alice E. Dunn, 90, of La Junta passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be Friday, June 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at The United Methodist Church of La Junta with Reverend Terilynn Russ officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
She was born October 23, 1919 to Arthur & Mabel (McGill) Butt in Tribune, Kansas. Alice married Charles Leroy Dunn on July 27, 1941 in Boise City, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2001. Alice worked as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Wards and McKenzie Furniture for many years. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and Pueblo Chapter #7, Order of the Eastern Star.
Alice is survived by her children, Diane Payne of La Junta and Robert (Jean) Dunn of Chester, Virginia; grandchildren, David (Melanie) Dunn of Woodbridge, VA, Michelle (Jim) Perkins of Lakeworth, FL, Heather Payne of La Junta, Robin (Michael) Puleio of Duvall, WA; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Jamey, Lilly, Savannah, Talulla, and Beckett; brother, Larry Butt of Walsh and her sister Mary Ann (Walter) Swafford of Hobbs, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Leroy Dunn, son-in-law, Byron Payne, brothers Leo and Keith, and her sisters, Florence and Arlee.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
