Alice M. Carson

Alice M. Carson, 87, of La Junta, passed away Friday, March 20th at the Arkansas Regional Medical Center.Graveside Service will be Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Higbee Valley Cemetery in Higbee, Colorado.Alice was born September 15, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas D. and Anna Pietraszak Mendyke. She married Kit Edward Carson on July 17, 1943. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1992.Alice served in the Waves during World War II. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish, and also enjoyed a long membership at the La Junta Golf Club.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister, and one grandson, Zachary Wynne.She is survived by her children, Glenn (Joanna) Carson of Houston, Texas, Kathleen Carson of Pueblo, Colorado, Rebecca Ray of Goodyear, Arizona, and Christine (Keith) Wynne of Sun City West, Arizona; grandchildren, Christopher Carson, Kevin and Amber Carson, Patty Ray, Katie Ray, Cyndi Ray and James Carson Ray, Kerri and Barrett Bender, Jacob Wynne, and Tara and Brent White; great-grandchildren, Olivia Carson, Christopher Ray, Kayci and Dax Bender and Ryker White; sisters, Henrietta Spotti and Anastasia Napier; and sisters-in-law Stella Harrington and Lettie Lee Carson, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
