Allen Bair

Allen Bair, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2009. He was born on January 2, 1916 in Clayton, New Mexico to Ben & Lenore (Riggs) Bair. They came to La Junta in 1924 in a covered wagon and remained in La Junta except for 6 months in Marble, Arkansas. He graduated from La Junta High School in 1935. He married Irene Ruth Moore on May 26, 1939; she preceded him in death on August 25, 1997.
He farmed in the area and also worked at the Holly Sugar Factory in Swink, for Vargo Construction, and East Otero R-1 Maintenance Department. He always enjoyed making puzzles for family and friends. He was an elder in the Community of Christ Church.
He is survived by his son, Roger (Colleen) Bair of Junction City, OR; daughter, Janice Bair of La Junta; niece, Dorothy (Charles) Baker of La Junta; sister-in-law, Eunice Bergstrom of La Junta; grandsons, Devin Bair of Eugene, OR; Allen Bair of Wasilla, AK; step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and niece Ruth Anne (Bergstrom) Galloway.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Elder David Carlock and Elder Donna Seilheimer of the Community of Christ Church.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
