Amanda Jane Bravo

Amanda Jane Bravo, 88, passed away on January 4, 2021 at the Mount St. Francis Nursing Center in Colorado Springs. She was born on July 2, 1932 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Charles & Nellie (DeFreese) Thomas. She married Ernest Frank Bravo on October 14, 1950 at the St. Patrick Parish in La Junta; he preceded her in death on February 18, 1991.

She attended school in Rocky Ford and Swink. She worked at her mother’s restaurants, the Fox Theater in La Junta, and that is where she met Ernest Frank Bravo. She also worked for Dr. Clayton Weber and Dr. Estep and the Colorado Bank & Trust.

Amanda was on the Swink PTA, Swink Band Parents, Santa Fe Hospital Auxiliary, Church Circle # 2, Catholic Daughters, Swink Alumni Association and Swink Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children, Dianna (Bill) Milenski, Shelly (Fred) Grantham and Jill (Dave) Ritter all of Swink; grandchildren, Kaylin and Alison Milenski of Commerce City, CO; Monica (Mark) Pijanowski of Littleton, CO; Heath Grantham of Ordway; Nick (Amy) Grantham of Fort Morgan, CO; Lauren (Tess) Winston of Colorado Springs; Brenten Ritter of Aurora, CO; three great-grandchildren, Chris Pijanowski of Littleton, CO; Charlee and Thomas Grantham of Fort Morgan, CO; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank Bravo; brothers, Leonard, Charles, Homer, William, John, Freddie, Richard.; sisters, Ann Larson, Dorothy Parker, Mary Malott and Sally Oreskovich.

A graveside committal will be Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
