Amelia Nutt

Amelia Schmidt Nutt, 98, passed away November 4, 2009, in Pueblo, Colo. She was born June 6, 1911 in Fort Cobb, Caddo County, Oklahoma to Peter J. and Mary (Base) Schmidt. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Cemetery in Ordway. Visitation is Wednesday, November 11, 2009, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home.
The Schmidt family moved to Colorado in 1932. Amelia was the fifth of eight children. They lived in Cheyenne Wells, Arapahoe, Cheraw and moved to La Junta in 1936. Amelia married Berwyn Udell Nutt on February 7, 1946 in La Junta after he returned from the service. They lived on his parent’s ranch until January, 1973 and they moved to Swink, Colorado. Berwyn passed away on July 14, 1987. Amelia lived at Casa Del Sol in La Junta until 1999, when she moved to Belmont Senior Center in Pueblo. June, 2009 she was moved to University Park Care Center until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and spouses; sisters, Elizabeth (Leander H.) Janz, Agnes (William) Miller, Susie (Ralph) Grauberger, Margreat (Claus Albert) Beek and Ester Schmidt; brothers, Dave (Lillie Unruh) Schmidt, John (Leota Walters) Schmidt; three nephews, Elmer, Edgar and Bobby. She is survived by six nephews, five nieces and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
