Arden Dean Quillen

May 20, 1952 — December 15, 2019

Arden Quillen, 67, of La Junta passed away on December 15, 2019 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Craig, Colorado to Harold and Mildred Quillen.

He was well known in the community, having worked at Safeway for 36 years. He made many great friends during his lifetime. Arden had a passion for golf, fishing, gambling, and loved football. He definitely was one of the Denver Bronco's biggest fans. He had a special gift of lifting other's spirits and bringing laughter into their world. Whether he knew you or not, he would make you feel like family. He loved animals and they loved him. He will be remembered for his unrelenting integrity, humor, wildly entertaining stories, and his infectious smile. Arden will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to be part of his life.

Arden was a devoted husband for 48 years to Joyce Quillen of La Junta; he was a loving father to Kevin (Mary) Quillen of La Junta and Jeff (Rachel) Quillen of Pueblo West, Colorado; his brother, Monte Quillen and sister, Robin Stephenson; a very loving grandpa to four grandchildren, Brenden (Brianna) Quillen and Jaden Quillen of Colorado Springs; Kyle Quillen of Rocky Ford and Meredith Quillen of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vanavay Welch and Sandra Shepard.

As per Arden’s request cremation has taken place and there are no services at this time.
