Audrey A. Nesset

Audrey Nesset, 73, was born on October 1, 1937, in Watkins, Iowa, to Helen and Arthur Nesset; she died August 24, 2011 in La Junta.

Audrey enjoyed decorating clothing with Tri-Chem and enjoyed her circle of friends that met on Friday mornings to play cards and make ceramics. She was active with the Senior Center and The Cancer Care Initiative. She was known affectionately as the “bread lady” for her coconut bread and banana bread that she gave away, especially during the holiday season.

Survived by her children, Barbara (Alan) Larick, McAllen, TX, Kelly (Glen) Kreft, La Junta, CO, Keith Stangl, Phoenix, AZ, Ed Stangl, La Junta, CO. Grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Jed, Brandon, Rachel, Keith Jr, Cody, Kassy and 6 great grandchildren. Sister Kathy (Bill) Francis, WA, Brothers Clarence (Marie) Nesset, NM, Allen (Shirley) Nesset, CA, Richard (Jennifer) Nesset, TX. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Nesset and Helen Glessner.

A gathering to celebrate her life with family and friends will be September 17, 2011 at the North La Junta Community Center from 2 - 4 pm.
