Augustine J. Corona

Augustine J. Corona, 32, of La Junta, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born to Antonio Corona, Sr.  and Vivian (Lucero) Ceniceros in Rocky Ford on August 24, 1979. He married Helen Leslie Douglas on July 29, 2006 in La Junta, Colorado.

    Augustine graduated from Manzanola High School class of 1998. He attended automotive and business management classes at Otero Junior College. He was a lifetime member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. Augustine loved his wife, family, and friends and he will be greatly missed.

   He is survived by his wife, Elena Corona; son, Julian Tafoya Corona; mother, Vivian (Pedro) Ceniceros; father, Antonio Corona, Sr.; brothers, Antonio (Suzanne) Corona, Jr., Pedro (Samantha) Corona, Aaron Corona, Dominick Corona, Nathan Corona, and Uriel Corona; sisters, Mandeez Archuleta and Myra Navarro; grandmother, Maria Louisa Lucero; mother-in-law, Annie Hernandez-Casique; godchildren, Ariel Pearl and Mariah Ann Hernandez, Appie Romero, and Jonathon Teal; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

    Augustine was preceded in death by his biological father, Paul Archuleta, grandfather, Abram Lucero, Sr., grandfather, Fernando Archuleta, grandfather, Philip G. Hernandez, uncle, Charles Joseph Lucero, and brother, Frank Salazar.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, January 20, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. and Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, January 20th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
