Aurelia "Mona" Zamora

Aurelia “Mona” Zamora., 54, of La Junta passed away October 24, 2010 at the St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo. She was born on March 21, 1956 in La Junta to Catherino & Catherine (Guerrero) Mata. She married Lee Zamora on April 24, 1982 in La Junta.
Mona worked at Western Foods for 20 years and retired from their in 1995. She enjoyed quilting and making cakes. Mona will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Lee of the La Junta home; mother, Catherine Lopez of La Junta; step daughters, Joan Montoya of La Junta; Sarah (Paul) Rudnicki of Connecticut; Nancy Hernandez of La Junta; brothers, Peter Mata, Catherino Mata, and Dino (Buffy) Lovato all of La Junta; sisters, Mary (Elias) Altamirano of La Junta; Gloria Lopez of La Junta; nephew, Anthony (Monica) Sanchez, numerous nieces & nephews also survive; special pets, Scarlet & Chiquita; special friends, Deloris Black, Dave (Dusty) Schindler, Pepa Gonzales and Juliana Lopez.
Mona was preceded in death by her father, Catherino Mata; step father, Jose Lopez; brother, Steve Mata; grandson, Jeremy Zamora.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
