Betty Larrew

December 9, 1925 — April 30, 2013

Betty Larrew, 87, passed away on April 30, 2013 at The Good Samaritan Village in Fort Collins, Colorado. Betty was born on December 9, 1925 in Otero County to Lindsey and Mamie (Wheeler) Ice. She attended school in the Cheraw area. She married Bud Larrew in Amarillo, Texas on February 2, 1948; he preceded her in death on April 8, 1994. 
Following their marriage, they settled in La Junta for several years. She worked as a telephone operator in the area. They also resided in Meeker and Karval before moving to Haswell in 1961 where they ranched until Bud passed away.  During that time, Betty was a full time dedicated mom, homemaker and spouse of a rancher. After Bud passed, Betty moved to Fort Collins to be closer to family and resided there until now.  However, her love was always for the prairie of Southeastern Colorado.
She is survived by sons, Gary (Julia) Larrew of Windsor and Tery (Julie) Larrew of Littleton; four grandchildren, Susan, Greg, Wade, Adrienne; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ethan, Paityn, Conner; one sister, Dorothy and one brother, Dave. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and grandson, Chad.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haswell Community Building, P. O. Box 100, Haswell, CO  81045 direct or through the funeral home.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
 
 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Wayne Cathey of the First Southern Baptist Church officiating.  Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
