Betty May Mccall

Betty May McCall, 82, of La Junta passed away on March 22, 2012 at the Joni Fair Hospice House in Pueblo. She was born on April 2, 1929 in Crane Missouri to Albert & Leta (Houtchens) Hilton.  She married Francis Edward McCall, Jr. on December 20, 1943 in Kansas; he preceded her in death on April 28, 1980.  

Betty managed the cafe at the La Junta Municipal Airport for several years.  She graduated from Adams State College and taught elementary education for 20 years for East Otero School District.

She is survived by her son, Ed (Judy) McCall of High Point, North Carolina; her daughter, Cathy Lease of Billings, Montana; her son, Jon McCall of La Junta; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and her brother, Ken (Carol) Hilton of Salida, Colorado.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Leta Hilton, her husband, Francis E. McCall, three sons, Jack, Bill & David McCall and a brother Max Hilton.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
