Beverly June Jackson

Beverly June Jackson, 79, of La Junta passed away on August 21, 2019 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta. She was born on October 4, 1939 to Nero and Alice DiRezza in Littleton, Colorado. She married Ken Jackson in 1957 in Denver, CO.

They enjoyed camping and fishing in the early years. In 1974 they moved to La Junta where they quickly made many great longtime friends that will forever be a part of their lives. Val and Margaret Madrid, Joe and Dee Encinias, Joe Romero, and so many more. Beverly was well known for her work in the school lunch program in La Junta schools for a many years most recently The Intermediate School. She often times would talk about the joy those kids gave her every day.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life Ken Jackson; daughters, Debra (Anthony) Martinez and Tonilyn (Pedro) Madrid; grandchildren, Anthony Martinez, Angela Martinez, Crystal Martinez, Joey Madrid, and Alyse Madrid; 11 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren and more than one grand dog; her brothers, David DiRezza and James (Nelda) DiRezza; nephews, Mark (Candace) DiRezza and Dan (Katrina) DiRezza. She was preceding in death by her parents and younger brother, Gene DiRezza; two nieces, Tammy and Michelle DiRezza; sister in-in-law, Dolores and her in-laws George and Marie Jackson.

A celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Friends are welcome to the join the family in giving tributes, poems, and special stories. It was Beverly’s wishes to be remembered in a short celebration of her life followed by cremation.
