Bill Tague, 89, entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2021, at his La Junta home. He was born on February 24, 1932.
He attended school in Springfield, CO until the 8th grade. He began driving a Milk truck at the age of 10. He did this for 4 years then he began working for T.L. Tucker out of Lamar driving a semi-truck. He also was a dispatcher until 1958, during this time he married his first wife, Julia Preston. They had four children, DeEtta (Tim) Page, Leda Ann (LaVerne) Grahn, LaVern (Vicky) Tague and Frank (Gina) Tague.
In 1963, he was a dispatcher at the La Junta Livestock until 1972. During this time, he divorced Julia and married the love of his life in 1967, Virginia Burrows. To this union they added three more children, Tim (Michelle) Tague, Tracey Simpson and Travis (Rita) Tague. He retired from trucking with King Soopers in 1990. In his younger years he enjoyed challenging his friends to a running match.
Bill had many many friends and prior to COVID he enjoyed going to Cooper Kitchen to catch up on the latest news with his friends. He had two very close friends, Anthony Madrigal and Jan Price and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren also survive.
As per Bill’s request cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
