Brigido "Bee" Martinez

Brigido "Bee" Samuel Martinez, Jr., 73, of La Junta, passed away on January 1, 2012 at the St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood.  He was born on June 4, 1938 in La Junta to Brigido S. & Antonia (Salazar) Martinez, Sr.

Bee attended school in La Junta and served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy Martinez of the La Junta family home; daughters, Brenda Priddy, Lillian (Claudie) Martinez, B. Antonette Martinez, and Vicki (Filbert) DeHerrera; dear godson, Lencho Lopez; grandchildren, Bradley & Jonathan Priddy, Jessica (Omar) Vasquez, Jennifer & Filbert DeHerrera, III; & great-granddaughters, Trinity & Siara Vasquez; siblings, Ernie (Dorothy) Martinez, Duye Nolan, and Susie (Lawrence) Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brigido & Antonia Martinez, Sr., daughter, Mary Martinez, siblings, Rudy Martinez, Stella Romero, Tieto “Lee” Martinez and Rudy "Baby" Martinez.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Henry Aguwa officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
