Carol Max "Skip" Rogers

April 5, 1927 — January 12, 2011

Carol Max “Skip” Rogers, 83, of Rocky Ford passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 5, 1927, in Lebanon, Indiana to Everett Chas & Vivian (Cason) Rogers. He married Helen Charlene McCoy, in June 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Skip was the former owner of the Midtown Motel and the 5th Street Laundry. He was a member of the La Junta Elk’s, Rocky Ford VFW, and the Lions Club of Swink.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene of the Rocky Ford home; sons, Wayne (Jeanette) Rogers of Golden, Colorado; and Russell (Kay) Rogers of Rocky Ford; brother, John (Gail) Rogers of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Jacob Rogers of Rocky Ford; Elizabeth Rogers of Brighton, CO; Kari Rogers of Rocky Ford; and Patrick Rogers of Billings, Montana; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Conner and Kaylee Jillard of Brighton, CO. Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Everett & Vivian Rogers; five brothers & two sisters.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 21, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery with Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating. Military honors by the Rocky Ford Rifle Team, American Legion Post #8.
