Carolina M. Aragon

Carolina M. Aragon, 86, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the home of her son in La Junta.
    Carolina was born on Oct. 23, 1924 in Sabinoso, New Mexico to Louis & Ricarda (Maestas) Martinez.  She married Antonio C. Aragon on Jan. 10, 1944 in New Mexico; he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2007.
    Carolina loved cooking, sewing, and quilting. She loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed her trips to Cripple Creek. Carolina was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
    She is survived by her children, Mike Aragon of Pueblo West; Maria (Julio) Arellano of Pueblo; Tony (Berta) Aragon of Cheraw; Eddie (Janet) Aragon of La Junta; Rick (Annabelle) Aragon of La Junta; Lori (Roberto) Arellano of Pueblo; and Nancy (Luis) Gonzalez of Medesto, CA; brother, Cecilio Martinez, Sr. of Pueblo; sister, Maria Abdul of California; 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great-grandchildren. 
    Carolina was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Franque and Leo Aragon; great-grandson, Truth Baries; and her brothers and sisters.
    Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Monday, August 15, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. at the Peacock Memorial Chapel with graveside services to follow at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta with Father Charles Sena of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lamar officiating.
