Carolyn S. Headrick

Carolyn S. Headrick, 74, of Cheraw, passed away Dec. 22, 2011, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.  She was born to L.C. & Ruby Lee (Long) Johnson on April 11, 1937 in Harris, Oklahoma.  Carolyn married Clifford E. Headrick on July 10, 1954 in La Junta.

Carolyn attended La Junta schools and enjoyed working outside, be it in her garden or helping Clifford on the farm.  She was a cook for over 20 years at Cheraw School and was very involved with East Holbrook Mennonite Church before her health kept her from serving.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clifford of the Cheraw home; children, Connie (Cort) Minor of Roswell, New Mexico; Guy (Janette) Headrick of Rocky Ford; Rhonda (John) Nuttal of Enid, Oklahoma; and Clifton (Sandie) Headrick of Cheraw; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry (Thelma) Johnson of Oklahoma survives.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 31, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the East Holbrook Mennonite Church in Cheraw with Pastor John Stoltzfus officiating.
