Charles Otho Boykin, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Otho Boykin, Jr., 50, of La Junta passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 of natural causes. He was born August 7, 1962 in California and was raised in Pennsylvania.
Chuck graduated in 1980 and joined the Marine Corp. After he was discharged from the military he started his career in aviation.  In his 30 year career he was honored to fly support missions during Desert Storm, Haitian Relief as well as New Orleans. He was recently contracted to the Department of Defend flying into Afghanistan and other war torn areas. He took great pride in his work and was honored by what he did.
He married Roxanna Rose Boykin on December 23, 1988 in Alaska. Both brought a child with them, Linda Morrow (Wainer) Boykin and Brooke Ashley Boykin. They were joined by two more children Jerad Lee Boykin and Rebecca Loanne Boykin. They move to La Junta in 1994, where Chuck touched many lives.  He was always there to help his friends and neighbors whenever needed. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Boykin of Pennsylvania;  wife, Roxanna Boykin; children, Linda, Brooke, Jerad, and Rebecca Boykin; his beloved grandchildren,  Angelina Rosa Garcia and Trystyn Matthew Boykin; brothers, Mike (Ethyl) Boykin and Andy Boykin both of Pennsylvania.                
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. at BJ’s Sports Bar in La Junta. Family has asked that you come with a story about Chuck. In lieu of flowers bring a dish to share so we may celebrate and honor a remarkable person.
