Charles R. Collins

Charles Ray Collins, 64, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at his La Junta home. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Rodger Harris of Arkansas Valley Hospice officiating.
Charles was born on February 22, 1945 in Quapaw, Oklahoma to Raymond Lee & Mildred (Thomas) Collins.
He worked for the Ft. Lyon Veterans Administration Hospital for 15 years. He loved to fish, and the outdoors. He loved his family dearly.
Charles is survived by his wife, Sharon of the La Junta home; children, Lynette Collins, Tisha (Chuck) Barton, Derek Collins, Jared Collins, Hope (Gary) Burgess, Melisha Cruzan; brothers, Jim (Wilma) Collins, Junior (Nancy) Collins, Albert (Helen) Collins, Bob (Roberta) Collins, Larry (Cindy) Collins; sisters, Marilyn Salasberg and Linda Collins. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Mildred Collins.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
