Chester Bay

November 22, 1925 — January 11, 2009

Chester Bay, 83, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2009 in Peoria, Arizona. Service will be held Friday, January 16th at 10 a.m. at the First Church of God in La Junta with pastor Stanley Reiley officiating. Internment will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
He was born near Guymon, Oklahoma on November 22, 1925 to Shirley E, & Ida M. (Beard) Bay the youngest of 8 children. Mr. Bay moved to Colorado as a young boy and graduated from Swink High School. He married Milsene Quick on March 6, 1945.
Mr. Bay started in the trucking business at the age of 17 and continued through his life, hauling onions, hay, produce and mostly cattle. In 1994, he married Elizabeth B. Cass in Phoenix. They enjoyed spending their winters in Phoenix and the summers fishing in Gunnison. The rest of the year they resided in La Junta. He was a life long member of the First Church of God. He enjoyed time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children, Connie (Nick) Nicholas, Cheryl (Bob) Freidenberger, Ron (Lindy) Bay, stepsons, Alan (Martha) Cass, Del (Pam) Cass, Rosalind (George) Gutierrez and Sonja Hill, sister Velva Bay, sister-in-law, Darlene Bay, Bea (Bob) Reynolds, brother-in Laws, Jack (Jean) Quick, Bud (Eleanor) Quick,
Gary (Mary Lou) Quick, grandchildren, Mike (Carrie) Nicholas, Rick (Val) Nicholas, Susie (Dave) Meadows, Suzette (Ryan) Swyman, Melinda (Michael) Marks, Cory (April)
Bay, David (Bethany) Weaver, Todd (Lauren) Weaver, also survived by many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Milsene, Siblings, Orville, Albert & Elton Bay, and Grace Place and Sylvia Schafer.
