Clarence Eugene Skipper

March 13, 1929 — March 11, 2019

Clarence Eugene Skipper, 89, passed away quietly at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center on Monday, March 11, 2019. He was born and raised in Lynn Haven, Florida.

Clarence enlisted into the Army at the age of 17 and spent over 20 plus years of his life on multiple assignments and he retired in 1969. During the time he was in the army while stationed at Fort Carson, he met Lois Anita Moseley and they were eventually married.

He worked at NIBCO in the Tool & Die department and drove for Ruan Trucking picking up loads of steel at CF&I and delivering the steel to Amarillo, TX. He then spent another 20 plus years working at Ft. Lyon VAMC where he was a Nurse Aide and was promoted to the position of Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He loved to hunt, fish and most of all his family. He will be deeply missed but also united with his wife, Lois Skipper.

He is survived by his sons, Brent (Glenda) Skipper of Idaho; Rod (Patricia) Crosby of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Horn of Manzanola; Mandy Horn of Cheraw and Kimberly (Brandon) Long of La Junta; ten great-grandchildren and he loved each and every one of them. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

As per Clarence’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
