Curtis D. Byers

Curtis Dale Byers, 47, of La Junta, passed away November 21, 2009, in La Junta. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Las Animas.  Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 27, from Noon to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta. 
Curtis was born on March 5, 1962, in La Junta to Robert Orville & Betty E. (McCullough) Byers, Sr. He attended school in McClave, graduating in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography and riding his motorcycle.
Curtis is survived by his wife JoAnna Dillon of the La Junta home; mother Betty Helphingstine of Las Animas; children, Caitlin & Trevor of Las Animas; step-children, Micah & Hannah Dillon of La Junta; sister, Elizabeth Byers of Las Animas and his niece, Dusty Rose Byers of Las Animas; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Byers, Sr. and his brother, Robert Byers, Jr.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
