Daryl Jay Fritch

Daryl Jay Fritch, 67, passed away on November 30, 2021, at his home in La Junta, of complications from heart disease. He was born on November 15, 1954, in Rocky Ford as the fourth son to his parents.

He grew up in the farming/ranching community of Higbee south of La Junta. He graduated from La Junta High School in 1974 and completed a degree in Christian Leadership from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina in 1979. It was during his time at the university that he met and later married his wife, Pauline Coulombe. They moved to Bradenton, Florida where their daughter Christina Michelle was born, and Daryl taught Art and Theatre and helped with maintenance at Community Christian School. Over the years he worked in various schools, construction, maintenance and furniture manufacturing jobs. Throughout his life he enjoyed using sleight of hand or magic in presenting object lessons to children and youth. He also enjoyed oil painting, as well as building and refinishing fine furniture and enjoyed fellowship within his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer Roy Fritch and Julianne Sturgis Fritch. He is survived by his daughter, Christina (Patricia) Falco of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and three brothers, Roy (Marva) Fritch of La Junta; Jan (Karen) Fritch of Greeley; and Robert (Choon) Fritch of Albuquerque, NM.

As per Daryl’s request cremation has taken place and no services at this time.
