Diana Nicole Barton

Our Precious Little Angel, Diana Nicole Barton, age 2, of La Junta, was called to dance with the angels on Saturday, September 3, 2011 after a brief stay at the Children’s Hospital in Aurora.  She was born on July 28, 2009 in La Junta, Colorado to Michael Shane Barton & Barbara Mae (Dowdy) Rice.

Diana loved dancing with her brothers, watching movies with her dad and dressing up as a pretty little princess.  She enjoyed having tea parties with her grandma, gardening with her grandpa and loved washing dishes with mama and giving her daddy Norm kisses at night.

Diana was such a giving little girl.  When at one of her brother’s games, she went to each person in the stands and handed them each a piece of popcorn, leaving her with none.  It made her happy to share what she had with others.

Our precious little princess, you are loved and missed.  Your memories will carry us through, as the angels have carried you.

Diana is survived by her mother, Barbara Rice and step-father, Norman Railton of La Junta; father, Michael Barton of Texas; siblings, Kyler Rice, Kody Rice, Kurtis Railton, Shawn Barton, and Kevin Rice; grandparents, David & Diane Cordova, Cathy & Benny Barton, and Pam & Jimmy Foxhoven; great-grandmother Bonnie Higbee; and great-grandparents George & Fern Mitchell and many other great-grandparents. Numerous uncles & aunts and other relatives survive. She was preceded in death by her Uncle Tony Dowdy; grandfather, George Russell Dowdy, Jr.; great uncles, Robert Earl Barton & Albert Lee Barton.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valley Community Church with Mike Beecham of Crossroads Church officiating.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
