Dois Parrish, 95, passed from this life on January 1, 2014, at the La Junta Medical Center Nursing Facility.
She was born on October 3, 1918, in Floydada, Texas, to Eva Annie and John Trammel Hix. Her identical twin sister, Lois, was born 15 minutes later. She married George Parrish on April 27, 1940. Dois enjoyed her life and always made the best of it. She touched many lives on her journey here, and we know she is now enjoying a wonderful reunion and is receiving her much-earned reward in the arms of her Savior.
Dois is survived by her children Wayne (Kathy) Parrish of Burlington, Colorado, Gary Parrish of La Junta, Shari (Joe) Overton of Queen Creek, Arizona; 7 grandchildren Brandon (Julie) Parrish, Tandy (Clay) Hasser, Clint (Marianne) Overton, Monte Overton, Zach (Questa) Parrish, Kit (Angela) Parrish, Tyler (Kacey) Parrish, and 12 (soon to be 13) great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, infant son Roylan, her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and an infant grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do an act of kindness for someone in memory of Dois.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Dois’ funeral service will be Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Lyon National Cemetery.
