Dorothy Ann Kubin

Dorothy Ann Kubin, 84, passed away on July 6, 2020 at her La Junta home. She was born on June 12, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas to Albert & Blanche (Pawlik) Kopycinski.

Dorothy attended Texas Wesleyan University. Dorothy married Marvin T. Kubin on July 31, 1965 in Fort Worth, TX. Married for 51 years, they resided in La Junta, Colorado for 40+ years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was active in PEO Chapter W and served as Secretary for the Marian Coterie/Circle One group at Our Lady of Guadalupe. She enjoyed taking short trips to the casinos in Cripple Creek, attending Bible Study, fishing and spending time in the summer in Creede, CO. She was an active member in Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish and was a strong supporter & volunteer for the annual St. Patrick’s Dinner Auction. She was active in other various community organizations and volunteer opportunities over the years.

Dorothy is survived by children, David Kubin of Liberty Hill, TX; Susie Kubin of Broomfield, CO and Dixie (Peter) Kozinski of Centennial, CO; granddaughter, Nina Kozinski; sister-in-law, Margene Owens of Manchester, ME and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Kubin; her parents, Albert & Blanche Kopycinski; and brother, William Kopycinski.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, July 10, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Henry Wertin officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
