Duye Virginia Nolan, 78, of La Junta, former Cheraw resident until 2008, passed away April 4, 2013, at her La Junta home. 

Duye was born on April 11, 1935, in La Junta to Brigido & Antonia (Salazar) Martinez.  She was married to Tony Nolan; he preceded her in death on June 12, 1995. Duye worked at the Night & Day and the Capri Lounge. She enjoyed being with her family, she enjoyed life, she loved animals, was very religious, and was a great cook.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Wilson of La Junta, Maryanne (Gonzalo Bailon) Betancur of La Junta, Tony (Charlene) Nolan of Rocky Ford and Roberto "Danny" (Wendy) Nolan of La Junta; grandson, Kenny Betancur of Cheraw; brother, Ernie Martinez of Denver and sister, Susie Lopez of La Junta. A great-grandchild, several step-children as well as several step-grandchildren survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brigido & Antonia Martinez, husband, Tony Nolan, son, Brigido "Beo" Nolan, daughter, Rosalee Martinez, brothers, Rudy Martinez, Bea Martinez, Lee Martinez and Little Rudy Martinez; and sisters, Mary Martinez and Stella Romero. 

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
