Elizabeth Miller

Elizabeth Miller, 97, of La Junta, passed away Nov. 20, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born May 19, 1913 in Sugar City, Colorado to John & Eve (Steimetz) Ring.
Elizabeth married Pete Grasmick on December 3, 1931; he passed away Nov. 29, 1939. She then married Manuel Miller on December 19, 1947; he preceded her in death on August 25, 1979. She was a charter member of the Valley Community Church. Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and especially spending time with her family. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Gene (Sylvia) Grasmick of La Junta; daughters, Patty Barrow of Bristol, Colorado and Cynthia (David) Wilkinson of Asbury, Missouri; brother, John (Martha) Ring of Morrison, Colorado; sister, Willadene Lusk of Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, John & Eve Ring, husbands, Pete Grasmick and Manuel Miller, son, John Miller, daughter, Charlotte Petty, grandson, Steven Barrow, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., at Peacock Funeral Home, 209 S. 4th Street, Lamar, with Reverend Kurt England of the Valley Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Lamar. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel, 401 Raton Ave., La Junta.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
