Elsie E. Vigil

Elsie E. Vigil, 84, passed away on March 24, 2021 at her Littleton home. She was born on March 7, 1937 in Thatcher, Colorado to Moises & Albinita (Gurule) Ortiz. She married Raymond Vigil on September 24, 1955 in Raton, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on August 19, 2005.

She is survived by her children, Henrietta (Jesse) Orozco of Littleton, CO; Zeke Vigil of La Junta; Loretta Nielsen of Mesa, AZ; and Ray Vigil, Jr. of Tracy, CA; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three son-in-law’s, Vic Mata, Sr., Mike Nielsen and Lawrence Ramirez; siblings, Joe Ortiz of Utah; Moises (Sharron) Ortiz of Fontana, CA; Albert Ortiz of Raton, NM; Richard Olguin of Abilene, TX; Elaine (Tommy) Garza of Tecolote, NM; Julia Ortiz of Raton, NM; and Linda Olguin of Abilene, TX; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Nancy Mata and Sandra Ramirez; granddaughter, Juliann Ramirez; daughter-in-law, Debbie Vigil, one brother Lawrence Ortiz, two sisters, Margaret Herrera and Flora Ortiz.

A memorial services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God with Pastor James Crandall officiating.
