Elvin E Ross

Elvin E Ross, 100, of Rocky Ford passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday, May 14th from 9 a.m. to noon. Graveside services will be Friday, May 14, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Reverend Dr. Rex Williams of the First Baptist Church officiating.

He was born January 24, 1910 to Wilbur & Delphia Ross in Chase County, Kansas. He married Ruby Spaulding on August 18, 1937 in Lamar, Colorado; she preceded him in death on October 16, 1999. Elvin worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 46 years; retiring in 1973. He was a devoted family man and loved the Lord with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Elvin is survived by his children, Juanita Ross of Soldotna, AK, Donald Ross of Brandon, FL and Evangeline (LeRoy) Harr of Prince George, VA; grandchildren, Jonathan Paul (Anna Marie) Harr, Michael Christopher (Karen Denice) Harr, Vonice, Cheri, Mark, Brian, Becky, Alicia, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Victoria Grace, Caleb Alexander, Thomas Christopher, Adam Gabriel, and 16 additional great-grandchildren survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby Ross and brother, Clarence Ross.
