Erma M. Nuanes

Erma M. Nuanes, 80, of La Junta passed away, Dec. 12, 2011, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center.  She was born Sept. 2, 1931 in La Junta to Everett & Agatha (Nuanes) Tapia.

Erma enjoyed cooking for her family, fishing and her cat 'Missy'.  She was at her happiest when her family was around and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Jessie (Vicki) Apadaca of Phoenix, AZ, Diane (Rudy) Salas of La Junta, and Veronica (Phil) Padilla of Tempe, AZ; siblings, Bill (Nancy) Tapia of Colorado Springs, Judy Daniels of La Junta, Georgia (Robert) Ramirez of La Junta, Lucy (Milton) Gutierrez of La Junta, and Vicky (Alfred) O'Canas of La Junta; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her close friend Albert Salas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Rebecca Ramirez and her grandmother Aurelia Nuanes.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick's Parish with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating.  Visitation will be this evening, Dec. 14, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
