Eugene Conditt

Eugene C. Conditt, 84, of La Junta, passed away February 27, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 21, 1927 in La Junta, Colorado to Matt Claron & Matilda Mae (Corbin) Conditt. He married Myrna C. Thomas on October 1, 1948 in La Junta, Colorado.Gene worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 45 ½ years. He was a member of the La Junta Rifle Club and a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. Gene enjoyed working with his hands; working with wood and leatherwork. He loved his family most of all and will be missed dearly.Gene is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrna of the La Junta home; sons, Michael (Linda) Conditt of Lincoln, NE; Matt (Beth) Conditt of Canon City, Colorado; daughter, Su (Mark) Korbitz of Sugar City, Colorado; 1st cousin, Evelyn (Spangle) Amadei of Canon City, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters.Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to charity of choice direct or through the funeral home.Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Swink with Pastor Frank Kean of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Edmond, OK officiating.
