While living on the farm Gene loved spending time fishing and hunting with his family and friends. During one of his last outings Gene was able to go fishing with his son, Rod, at Scobee Pond near Horse Creek.
Eugene was a long time member of the Nazarene Church and Gideon’s International, serving as president of the Arkansas Valley Gideon’s for ten years. He enjoyed speaking at local churches and ministering to prisoners in Southeast Colorado.
Eugene was a loving and faithful husband for 60 years and was a dedicated caregiver to Joy for many years when her health failed. He was a caring Father and Grandfather and treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
