Eunice L.E. Bergstrom

Eunice L.E. Bergstrom, 94 of La Junta, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center.
She was born to Loral P. and Maude Eva (Payne) Moore on November 28, 1916 in La Junta. She attended school in La Junta and Holly, graduating from Holly School in 1935. After graduation she worked for the Assessor’s office in Prowers County, was the superintendent of the schools office in Lamar, the Santa Fe Railroad backshop office in La Junta, the First Baptist Church and retiring in 1983 from the East Otero School District. Eunice married Nelse Oscar Bergstrom on June 4, 1945 in La Junta. Their union was blessed by two daughters, Ruth Anne and Dorothy.
Eunice’s hobbies included knotting, crocheting, sewing, plastic canvas and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar in Dec. 2, 1982; daughter, Ruth Anne Galloway on March 31, 2003; parents Loral P. and Maude Eva Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Allen Bair; and brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Evelyn Moore.
Eunice is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Charles) Baker of La Junta; son-in-law, J.D. (Carolyn) Galloway of Midlothian, VA; niece, Janice Bair of La Junta; nephews, Roger (Colleen) Bair of Junction City, OR; Keith (Barbara) Moore of Windsor, CO; Larry (Elaine) Moore of Lombard, IL; grandchildren, Doug (Shawna) Bergstrom of Holyoke, CO; Jill (Danno) Maurer of Ft. Collins, CO; Lori (Jeffrey) Hall of Graham, WA; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Tyler Bergstrom of Holyoke, CO; Alyshia (Zane) Schoenfeld of Greeley, CO; Brittany and Christa Durbin of Holyoke, CO; Jayden Hall of Graham, WA; Jayme and Micah Maurer of Ft. Collins, CO; great-great granddaughter, Kyah Schoenfeld.
Graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Rex Williams officiating.
