Eva K. Passig

Eva K. Passig, 85, of La Junta, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Lyon National Cemetery with Reverend Terilynn Russ of La Junta United Methodist Church officiating.
Eva was born on November 9, 1923 in Beardsley, Kansas to Joseph & Sara (Rooney) Studer. She married Fritz W. Passig on March 21, 1972 in Raton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1998.
She was a teacher in rural Kansas in the 1940’s and 1050’s. She retired from Ft. Lyon in the late 1970’s. Later in her life she fulfilled her love of animals with a dog ranch.
She is survived by her son, Rod (Betty) Hunt of Billings, MT; daughters, Sally (Marvin Pacino) Carpenter of La Junta; Debbie (Ron) Lewis of Colorado Springs; Tina (Harry Kreft) Hunt of Penrose, CO; sister, Mary Diebolt of Denton, KS; brother, Joe (Sonia) Studer of North Glenn, CO; sister, Joan (Jack) Beal of Goodland, KS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and a great, great-grandson survive.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Richard “Dick” Hunt, and a brother & sister.
