Faye I. Wauson

April 12, 1930 — December 23, 2009

Faye Irene Wauson, 79, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Peacock Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in La Junta with Dr. Rex Williams, Pastor officiating.
Faye was born on April 12, 1930 to Alice and Hamilton Maggart in Fowler, Colorado and later moved to La Junta with her parents. She was the youngest of seven children. She married Jessie Leroy Wauson in 1952 and they made their home in La Junta. They would have been married 57 years on December 26, 2009. Out of this union they had three children.
She loved painting and had many beautiful paintings and was involved in the Fine Arts League at one time. She loved sewing, crocheting, cooking and taking care of her family and home. She was devoted to her husband and family and loved spending time with them. She loved animals especially dogs and birds. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy “Roy” Wauson and dog, Sparky; daughter, Patsy “Pat” of La Junta; sons, Roy of La Junta and Ted (Tammy) of Ordway; six grandchildren, Kristi (Frank Condit), Robert, Jason, Anna, Katie, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Nic, Curtis, Dameon, and Justyna; one brother, Bruce (Betty) Maggart of Lamar; numerous nieces & nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers, and one nephew.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
