Florence H. Williams

Florence H. Williams, 98, of La Junta, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Evangelist Clayton King of the Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
Florence was born on June 21, 1910 in Independence, Missouri, to Edward O. & Hester (Manning) Huffman. She married A.C. “Pat” Williams on August 17, 1930, in Las Animas, CO; he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1970.
She worked for 34 years in banking, most of the years at The Colorado Bank & Trust, retiring in 1976.
Florence is survived by her sons, Edward M. “Ed” Williams of South Fork, CO, Charles C. “Chuck” (Patti) Williams of Conroe, TX, and Daniel P. “Dan” (Cheryl) Williams of South Fork; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ, 10th & Cimarron Avenue, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
