Gertrude Marie Daniel

Gertrude Marie Daniel, 95, of Ordway passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Crowley County Nursing Center. She was born on November 17, 1915 in Ordway, Colorado to Henry & Marie (Mumm) Passig.

Gertrude farmed for Harry Clinger in Crowley County. She was a bus driver and custodian for Numa School until it closed. After the closing of the school she moved to Pueblo were she was employed by Deluxe Family Laundry. She later became a part-time custodian for the District 70 schools and also performed security checks at the school on the weekends and the holidays. She loved her family and children and had a passion for caring for children. As per Gertrude’s request cremation has taken place and no services at this time.

Gertrude is survived by her son, Robert (Shirley) Daniel; two grandchildren; special nieces, Paula Pacino, Sandy (Daryl) Geringer, Kim (Matt) Schegel; great nephews, Jace & Tate Schegel; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Abel) Gomez and other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.   

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Daniel; sisters, Anna Dunning, Maggie Stiffler, Elsie Campbell; brothers, Herman, Pete, John, and Paul Passig; special nephew, Tom Passig.
