Hattie C. Saban

Hattie C. (Allsworth) Saban, 89, passed away on February 20, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born in Coaldale, Colorado, on January 14, 1924, to Thomas L. & Amy (Tatman) McGlothlin.

Her first marriage was to Ralston “Ross” E. Allsworth in Boise City, OK on May 4, 1943; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1989. They made their home in Springfield, CO for a year before moving to La Junta in 1944. They lived in La Junta until 1969, and then they moved to Colorado Springs.

Hattie worked at the Otero Savings & Loan in La Junta & Rocky Mountain Industrial Bank in Colorado Springs. On May 8, 1992 in La Junta, she married Robert T. Saban of Canon City. They lived in Canon City until January 2012, when they moved to La Junta to be closer to family.

Hattie is survived by her husband, Robert T. Saban; son, Tom (MaryAnn) Allsworth of Higbee; daughter, Kathy Reed of La Junta; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchild; 20 great, great-grandchildren, and a sister, Grace (Harold) Scofield of La Junta. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, son, Terry Dean Allsworth, son-in-law, Roy Reed, grandsons, Jeff Reed and David Allsworth, and two sisters and one brother.

Hattie’s wishes were cremation and a private family service will take place at a later date.
