James D. Martinez

James D. “Jim” Martinez, 52, of San Diego and formerly of La Junta, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in San Diego, CA. Memorial services will be on Tuesday, July 28th at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick’s Parish with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating.
He was born on September 15, 1956 in Trinidad, Colorado to Charles David & Marguerite Rose (Mares) Martinez.
Jim completed High School and joined the Army for a few years. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a machine operator which he enjoyed.
He is survived by his daughters, Christine (Ray) Garcia, Victoria Martinez both of Trinidad, CO; son, James Martinez, Jr. of Michigan; mother, Marguerite Wadsworth of La Junta; sisters, Karen King, Tammy (Ralph Maharas) Martinez; brothers, Nick C. Martinez, David L. Martin, Thomas E. Martinez and Charles A. (Renee) Martinez; nephew, Lee Hotchkiss and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles D. Martinez; grandfather, Nicholas Martinez; aunts, Liz Archuleta and Kim Martinez and his nephew R. Matthew Perdue.
