Jan Sabourin

Jeanette “Jan” Sabourin, 76, of La Junta, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center.

Jan was born to the late Kenneth and Hazel Phillips, on December 18, 1935, in Sargeant, Nebraska.  She married the late William “Bill” Sabourin, on October 20, 1956.  Bill’s job with AT&T took them and their children to various towns across Colorado.  She settled in La Junta in 1990 to help care for her grandchildren.

Jan dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many.  She will be greatly missed, but her family will cherish the wonderful memories of the time they spent with her.

She is survived by her five children and fourteen grandchildren; daughter, Cindy (Richard) Rodriguez, and grandchildren, Carrie, Cory, Nicholas, and Kimberly; daughter, Michele (Gary) Roberts, and grandchildren, Teanna and Thomas; daughter, Richele (Mark) Eagle, and grandchild, Kristina; daughter, Nida (Rodney) Fouracre, and grandchildren, Molly, Matthew, Jeffrey and Rodney; and son, William “Billy” (Jean) Sabourin, and grandchild, Nida; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, William Kenneth, and grandson, Beau LeFevre.

Graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheatridge, Colorado on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.   The family will receive guests at the home of Nida and Rodney Fouracre.
