Jane Chaparro

Jane Lopez Chaparro, 73, of Rocky Ford passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford with Father Don Malin officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
She was born on February 8, 1936 to Geranimo “Jerry” R. & Tillie (Gonzales) Lopez in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Jane resided in Tracey, CA where she retired from Laura Scudder’s. She returned to Colorado and resided in Rocky Ford. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Jane is remembered for her holiday decorating and she had a very close bond with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sibling, Helen (Domingo) Martinez of Lakewood, CO; Marilyn (Dan) Zarate of Golden, CO; Eva Lopez of Rocky Ford; Jose (Erlinda) Lopez of Rocky Ford; Robert Lopez of Golden, CO; MaryAnn (Fabian) Rangel of Thorton, CO; Eugene (Sally) Lopez of Thorton, CO; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, son, Orlando N. Chaparro; brothers, Arturo “Archie” and Ernesto “Ernie” Lopez.
