Janetta L. Jaynes

June 8, 1927 — April 23, 2017

Janetta “Bonnie” Jaynes, 89, passed away on April 23, 2017 at her La Junta home. She was born on June 8, 1927 to Karl L. & Anna (Taylor) Eye in La Junta. She married Leslie “Babe” Jaynes on April 15, 1948 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She was very active in PTA when her children were in school. She belonged to the Westminster Players a theater group and was a member of Grange in California. She moved back home to La Junta in 2009.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Jaynes and daughters, Carol Reinhart and Debbie (Pete) Coffey; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Eye and Sue Hall; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Leslie “Babe” Jaynes and Forest Burns; daughters, Karen & Marilyn Jaynes; sons, Jerry & David Jaynes; and her sister, Charlene Minck.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Dell of the First Christian Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta

In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
