Johnnie N. Vigil

Johnnie N. Gonzales-Vigil, 52, passed away on December 29, 2021in La Junta, CO. She was born March 6, 1969, in Fort Hood, Killeen, TX to Dennis and Mary Gonzales.

Johnnie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, Aunt and Friend. She loved her grandchildren very much and spent as much time with them that she could. She had a strong bond with her sisters. They would spend weekends together along with her BFF Steven Martinez.

Johnnie graduated from Rocky Ford High School. She than attended OJC where she received her associate degree. She worked many years in telemarketing and human resources.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Vigil; parents, Dennis and Mary Gonzales; sons, Mark (Paula) Perez, Steven (Anjeanette) Perez and Matthew (Brandi) Perez; sister, Josephine Gonzales, triplet sister, Jeannie Gonzales; grandchildren, Steven Jr., Cienna, Adam and Mariana; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nick and Josie Cordova, Dosie and Margaret Gonzales; brother, Johnny Gonzales and niece, Heaven Sandoval.

Johnnie was best known for her contagious laugh. She will be missed by many.

Viewing will be held January 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Catholic Church in La Junta. Mass of Christian Burial will be held January 6, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe St. Patrick Catholic Church in La Junta with Father Victor Raj officiating. Interment will follow the Mass at the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
