Jose Garcia

Jose Garcia, 82, of La Junta, passed away Jan. 1, 2012, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.  He was born on May 14, 1929 in McAllen, Texas.

He is survived by his children, Joe (Stella) Garcia, Jr. of La Junta, Dora (Rudy) Martinez of La Junta, Connie (George) Vasquez of La Junta, Lucy Garcia of Pueblo, Elania (Ruben) Magana of Denver, Pauline Garcia of Pueblo, Jennie Garcia of La Junta, Tiburcio (Jerry) Garcia of Pueblo, and Theodore (Lisa) Garcia of La Junta; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ramona Garcia on November 15, 2005.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.  Both services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
