Josephine Julia "Judy" Daniel

Josephine Julia “Judy” Daniel, 82, passed away on March 16, 2020 at her La Junta home. She was born on March 1, 1938 in La Junta to Aureliano & Rosa (Garcia) Tapia.

She was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Judy enjoyed going to yard sales, going to the park where she could be outdoors in the sun, she also enjoyed seeing orange butterflies, her favorite color was yellow and yellow roses were her favorite. Judy loved her family and spending time with them and she loved her grandchildren very much and she enjoyed spending time with her aunt grandma Lou Tapia. She was a great cook and made the best tortillas. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Judy is survived by her children, Jane (Steven) Martinez of Pueblo; Jerry (Monica) Daniel of Colorado Springs; Jean Johnson of Hot Springs, SD; niece, Elanor (Leo) Martinez of Pueblo; siblings, Georgia Ramirez, Lucy (Milton) Gutierrez and Vickie O’Canas all of La Junta; William (Nancy) Tapia, Sr. of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Jessica (Max) Martinez, Bryan Martinez all of Pueblo; Thomas (Cassandra) Martinez of San Diego, CA; Jerry (Courtney) Daniel, Eric (Sarah) Daniel all of Colorado Springs; Carlos (Danay) Perez of Thornton; great-grandchildren, Anna, Andrew and Adrian Martinez; Eric, Jr. and Jordyn Daniel; Zigg and Koral Marquez-Perez. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and John Tapia; sisters, Theresa Martinez, Jean Salazar and Erma Salas; nephew, “Chonos” Tapia and son-in-law, Dennis Johnson.
