Josephine Tafoya

Josephine Tafoya, 78, of Ordway passed away on January 17, 2021 at the Penrose St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs. She was born on July 10, 1942 in Sopris, Colorado to Toby & Eva (Swaso) Aragon.

Josephine was a homemaker and loved listening to the Spanish band, Los Tigres del Norte and her favorite singer, Ramon Ayala. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart on the gospel channel. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Lily whom she called her little nurse and helper.

She is survived by her husband, Percy of the Ordway home; children, Paul (Celina) Tafoya of La Junta; Mike (Lorraine) Tafoya of Pueblo West; Amy Tafoya of La Junta; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Betty Jo Tafoya; grandson, Lawrence Andrew Martinez and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Monday, January 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the River of Life Fellowship with Pastor Jeb Brown officiating.
