June Miles

June Miles, 82, of La Junta passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. She was born on March 26, 1929, in Lamar, Colorado to Jesse E. & Reva (Bloyd) Davidson. She married James “Jim” Arthur Miles on March 7, 1947 in Syracuse, KS; he preceded her in death on June 26, 2005.

June owned and operated Mayer Flower Shop for many years with her mother and daughter, Jane. She also was the co-owner of Miles Heating & Refrigeration. She loved participating in Picketwire productions, was a dedicated supporter and board member of the Picketwire Players. June loved her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.  

She is survived by her children, Judy Katherine (John Doidge) Miles of Pueblo, Reva Jeannette Miles of Ft. Collins & Peter Danko, II of La Junta; grandchildren, J.J. (Melanie) Vanhook of Windsor, CO; Jeffrey Miles (Laurie) Vanhook of Ft. Collins; Peter (Sherry Davidson) Danko, III of Avondale; Kerri (DJ) Edmunds of La Junta; Melanie (Tom) Accardo of Casper, WY and Jim (Becky) Doidge of Pueblo; Andy (Tiffini) Glaze of Kaysville, UT; Tracy (Wendy) Monteith of Castle Rock; Wade (Melissa) Doidge of Denver; 23 great-grandchildren including, Chase, Brooklyn, Jason, Josh & Sarah Vanhook; Drew & Layla Jane Edmunds;  and Cassidy Jane Danko also survive, and her sister, Nellyne (Ray) Mc Farlane, sister-in-law, Judy Lusk, brother-in-law, Ken Morris, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her daughter, Jane Danko on January 4, 2005, sister, Barbara Morris and brother, Bill Davidson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the La Junta United Methodist Church with Reverend Terilynn Russ officiating.
