Karlyn Thayer

Karlyn Thayer, 66, of Cheraw, passed away at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta.  She was born in Oceanside, CA to Carl Lawrence and Ellen (Keraus)  Wiedeman on Jan. 18, 1946.

Karlyn worked at La Junta printing for many years. She instructed writers and was an accomplished wordsmith. Karlyn also was a Toastmaster for many years with the Out to Lunch Bunch.

Karlyn is survived by her husband, Robert Newsom of the Cheraw home; mother, Ellen Wiedeman; Tyler & Travis Thayer; brother, Doug (partner Erick Blakely) Wiedeman; niece, Erica MacDonald. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Lawrence Wiedeman and her first husband, Keith Thayer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta..
