Katherine "Hattie" H. Beegles

Katherine Harriett “Hattie” Beegles, 102, of Las Animas and formerly of La Junta passed away on Thursday, April 15th at the Bent County Healthcare Center. Graveside service will be Monday, April 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford with Reverend Calvin Kennedy of the Living Way Church of La Junta officiating.
Hattie was born in Delta, Colorado on December 29, 1907 to Louis & Emily (Murray) Thimgan and moved to a homestead south of Rocky Ford when she was a baby. Hattie graduated from Swink High School with the Class of 1928. She married William Earl Beegles on April 12, 1930 in La Junta; he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1975.
She is survived by a daughter, Erlene (John) Guess of La Junta; grandson, Eric (Karen) Guess of Kremmling, CO; granddaughter, Roslin (Steve) Marshall of Littleton; great-grandsons, Will & J.D. Guess of Kremmling and C.J. Marshall of Littleton; several nieces and nephews also survive. Hattie was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Purbaugh & Lois Berry, and a brother Marvin Thimgan.
